JOHN FOARDE - bass guitar, vocals
John is a veteran of duos, trios, and bands in both the United States and abroad. He played guitar and bass and sang in the Back Door Band in Beijing, China in 1989-91, and has performed publicly in Bangladesh, Malaysia, Mexico, and Mongolia. In addition to bass guitar, he plays acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, percussion, and tin whistle.
John is an independent contractor and consultant who has worked as a Capitol Hill staff director, as a trade association executive, and as a Foreign Service Officer. He hails originally from Chicago, but grew up in Alexandria, VA, and in Mexico City, Mexico. John speaks Mandarin, Spanish, French, and Bengali. In addition to his foreign affairs and musical interests, he is an avid collector of musical recordings, and enjoys reading, photography, automobiles, and personal computing.
